Mercedes won't sell CLS Shooting Brake in the U.S.

Actually this looks like a very stylish and sophisticated car.

But then again Americans aren't known for their automotive tastes given how they think a Lexus ES has 'style'...

Thats good... I've never warmed up to this Shooting Brake CLS and I definitely do not want to see them on a daily basis. I'm sure if I see one, I will think differently, perhaps, but until then, its too strange for me (wouldn't call it ugly because I love the CLS, but to make a wagon seems strange)

This is built for the market that wants to show their wealth, just like G-Wagon buyers and unlike us. When I mean wealth, I mean 500K and above earners.

Americans don't buy station wagons in high enough numbers for Mercedes to justify importing the cars, marketing them, and bearing all the other costs that would go along with selling it in the USA. You can't blame them for not importing it. Why should they sacrifice their profits for a wink from the snobs in the automotive media.

The USA is the biggest market in the world for Mercedes...we deserve every model they make whether 20,000 are sold a year or only 20 on special order. You always treat your best customer the best no matter how big or small the request. It is far cheaper keeping a good current
customer than finding a new one or getting one back once they have left for a competitor.
