Well, that's one theory.

Reports indicate that a patent application has been filled in China for the limousine you see above. While it's clearly based on a Jaguar XJ sedan, it's been modified in quite a peculiar fashion. The sleek lines of the original have been tossed in the trash bin, as far as we can tell.

Here's the conundrum: no one knows who filed the application, nor why. Some folks believe it's for the UK royals, others believe it is the work of an aftermarket company.

After taking a bit of a look at it, I'd side with the first group of folks. That's because if you've ever had a look at the one-off Bentley limo that's currently being utilized by the queen, you'd note it has that ridiculous, bulbous-shaped roofline. The same can be said here.

Something tells me if it were an aftermarket company, they'd want to keep the integrity of the original design. But, that's just me.

Anyone care to wager an educated guess at what we're looking at?
