The all-new Audi Q7 made its global, real-life debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). As far as I can tell, interest remains at an all-time high, however, I think the general consensus is mixed on whether it's a stud or a dud.

There's good reason for this. The design isn't exactly a home run. Even in real life you don't approach the vehicle and say "Yes, I NEED one of those in my driveway." The only people who are seeing hearts are the guys who run Audi fan sites and swallow the Audi Kool-Aid. I wonder why? ;)

As many have pointed out, it is rather wagon-like with its lower stance and streamlined style. It really is lacking masculinity.

But if you were at the Detroit show —  like me — and walked over to the Volkswagen booth, you would have seen the Cross Coupe GTE. This sport-utility vehicle, on the other hand, has a badass quality to it. It's higher, wider and, overall, much more sharp. Yes, I know it's a concept and exaggerated but something tells me THIS design is the better of the two.

It has a dash of panache, which is needed.

What say you, Spies?
Should the Audi Q7 have taken some creative license from the likes of the Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE?
