If you saw Agent 009's post earlier, you weren't seeing a mirage. That's the real deal. BMW's X1 was set to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show until a publication went ahead and broke the Bavarian's strict embargo.

The X1 IS a big deal for several major reasons:

1) Folks have been waiting for the X1's arrival for quite some time at this point. It was suppose to debut earlier; however, due to popularity abroad BMW couldn't build them fast enough -- literally.

2) Finally, BMW will have a product that squares up DIRECTLY with Audi's highly popular Q5. One thing though, it's less expensive than the Q5.

3) It's a huge volume seller abroad and we expect it to be JUST as popular in the States. You know how BMW sells 328is like hot cakes? That's where the X1 sDrive28i comes in. Starting at under $32,000 and equipped with rear-wheel drive, we're sure there will be a good amount of takers.

Ultimately, it comes down to YOU though.

Are you impressed or are you less than thrilled about the BMW X1?
