That's like using the rational that new Sonata sales were be based on old Sonota sales, which, based on what I have seen on the road is not the case.

The article seems to focus on "customers" when it doesn't take into account fleet sales, which account for a good percentage of many mid-size car sales with the exception of the Accord and Camry. The fact that Accord and Camry are so low in fleet sales makes it that much more remarkable that they lead in sales.

cidflekken, where did you see, or who told you that Accord is setting any sales records? It is time to wake up, and for you to be told that the Nissan Altima is outselling the Accord. Stop with the Kool-Aid already and drink some coffee to get that pick-me-up, ok? Please wake up to the fact that Nissan is also out-selling Honda in Japan too. Hhmmm, I wonder why? Toyota is # 1, then Nissan, then, alas, poor Honda.

nineteen-First of all the Fusion is NOT a foot longer. I know the article you read stated that. In reality it is barely an inch or so longer. Further the majority of Accord and Camry sales are going to be 4 cylinder engines, not the V6. Gas prices,what they are, will force people (and are already doing so) into 4 cylinder cars.The 240 HP turbo 4 in the Fusion is barely 1/2 second slower to 60 MPH. In real world traffic it will probably not matter. As for pricing perhaps it's a bit hign for the Titanum. However, unlike Accord, Camry or Altima(let alone Passat),the Fusion offers AWD. That is a smart move especially in the northeast, north central and north pacific climates.Finally it has real Euro handling to the car.

@thegeek. First, I never stated that the Accord was setting any records. I stated that it, along with the Camry, are leading in sales. That is just a fact that you clearly are ignorant to. The Accord has sold 247,000 units YTD, while the Altima has sold 234,000 units. The Accord also has less than 3% in fleet sales whereas the Altima is approximately 26%.
Make sure you know YOUR facts before your clear ignorance can be easily exposed.
