The first ever car to be designed and built in Mexico just happens to be a blistering sports coupe.
The all-new Mastretta MXT is an exclusive sports car that shows off some exciting character. Fitted with a 2.0L Turbocharged Duratec engine generating almost 240hp, the MXT blasts to 60mph in less than 5.0 seconds. Making this possible is the aircraft style technology together with a semi-monocoque chassis constructed from bonded aluminium, bringing the final weigh-in to a slim 900kg.
Mastretta says the MXT is designed for the adrenaline thirsty thrill seekers who want to get the blood flowing; a top speed of 150mph will do just that.
Direct race-car feel comes through the stiff double wishbone suspension, responsive rack and pinion steering (2.8 turns lock to lock) and 293mm ventilated disc brakes to instantly halt the car when necessary.
Company boss Tom Martin says:
“Customers who place orders at the show will be able to register their cars in May next year.”
“We should complete Vehicle Certification Agency testing by October and RHD production, which is limited to 80 cars in the first full year, will start by January.”
The aggressively sculpted two-seater sports coupe makes its mark at the British International Motorshow with a starting price of £32,999.
