Nissan to unveil new electric-vehicle on August 2

Nissan is using social media giant Twitter to spread news about a new electric-vehicle it will unveil on August 2.

“Nissan will unveil our all-new electric vehicle for the first time on August 2, at the opening of our new global headquarters in Yokohama,” NissanEVs Twitter status said.

The Japanese automaker received $1.6 billion from the $8 billion that the U.S. Department of Energy set aside for automakers developing fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles. The funding is geared towards meeting President Barack Obama’s goals of having 1 million plug-in hybrids and electric-vehicles on the road by 2015.
