In a review conducted by Toyota Motors Corp. on 4,200 individual acceleration-related complaints, no evidence has been found that supports the claim that its electronic throttle control caused unintended acceleration, according to Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's North American chief quality officer.
In a conference call, St. Angelo said that Toyota’s engineers and technicians have studied more than 4,000 US vehicles and has not found a single case in which electronics would lead to sudden unintended acceleration.
