My taxes are definitely going to go up, no doubt about it. I knew that before I voted for Obama. I also know the real reasons why my taxes are going up unlike many of the uneducated critics here. We will all see tax increases primarily due to:--Our total federal debt doubled during the Bush Administration--The Iraq war will end up costing over 3 trillion dollars, all borrowed money and debt kept completely off the books until now--Social security and medicare deficits being in the trillions within 20 years--Medicare will fold in about the same time frame--The US infrastructure is crumbling roads, bridges, etc will all need repair sooner than later, this will cost hundreds of billions of dollarsI won't even go into the damage an unregulated wall street and artificially low 1% interest rates have done to the future of this country. I will be taxed more, but I will continue to save more and take the tax breaks available to me. Other than universal health care, which because of the reasons I mentioned above is still a pipe dream, Obama's social programs are a drop in the bucket compared to the damage done over the last decade. Notice I said decade because Bill Clinton has alot to do with mess we are in.I am a registered independent, so I KNOW both parties have played are part in the current state of our union. He's aleady increased it by half of what Bush did in his 8 years.He's just using the recession as an excuse to write cheques to his buddies. This is one of the rare occasions where doing nothing is better than anything (like stone said). The economy will correct itself within 2 years, guaranteed. The normal cycle is 10 years, 1yr recession. Clinton/Bush extended the run to 16 years so it'll take 2 to fix itself.— huu76 (View Profile)

His aid programs to the poor and Middle Class are marginal at best, they are Clinton-like band-aids for current and historical social problems in America. Whats needed are true socialist reforms.However, even thouhg I agree within on hardly anything these days I have to support the guy becuase he is Black, and he might make things easier for guys like me in the future. Boo me all you want, but its just that simple!!!Huu, the Bush Economy was Horrible. Periods of High Unemployment in the beginning, followed by periods of underemployment by overqualified people. i.e. people with degrees wiping asses for $11 an hour. The cycle was 4 years actually, it took until 1995 for Clintons economic reforms to work, then the economy started to decline in 1999. After that, the Bush Economy was bad and made worse by 9/11 up until the 2004 Election Cycle. America is not the greatest country on Earth. Only Immigrants and politicans regurgitate that crap, and both peoples views are created by Bias.America is great, but not the Greatest country in the World (No Country is). America became great through:1. Enslaving Blacks and exploiting their free labor leaving Whites with free time to innovate and create. Then freeing Blacks to live in a racist social system that relegated us to second class citizenship, in order to use us as cheap labor. Then Freeing Blacks fromn that Tyranny, to relegate half of us to ghettos and the other half to stardom leading up to the presidency. Then creating a Drug War amd eliminating the urban industrial base for even cheap labor. The drug policies destroy the communities, and you use this an an excuse to blame the victims for their problems2. Stealing Native Americans land to relegate them to reservations, and putting them through cultural genocide. Stealing their natural resources, then poisioing their land, then people. Taking Profits out of the Native American communities and keeping them in a wicked system of dependency and poverty.3. Exploiting Latinos by stealing their land through annexations. Creating conditions in the Home countries of Latinos through corporate sponsored: coups, sanctions, and hostile takerovers of businesess. Thus, Keeeping them in a cycle of: poverty and dependency. Conservative American Society then faults them, and blames the victims when they want to come over. 4. Eploiting Asian Immigrants through cheap labor by building the west, then oppressing them by exacting drug laws becuase they got too close to white women. Forcing Asians to wither A. Open stores in other ocmmunities (Black/Latino), becuase whites arent accepting of them out in the burbs. B. Forcing Asians to live under a system of "good clean Minority" stewardship, having them scared to "fight the power".5. Taking White Immigrants and pitting them against: Blacks, Native Americans, Asians, and Latinos in an unfounded fear of cultural and racial genocide by mixing, and assimilation. Pushing these White Immigrants and their descendants to this day to commit acts of Racism that keeps these groups in a state of: lower class citizenship. dependency, poverty, in fighting, jealousy, false ideals of assimilation (i.e. the President). Having them be so fearful they build Suburban environments, which destroys the natural world, and leaves the cities, the pinnacles of every civiliation(including this one): in blight and as a result, inadvertantly creating some of the largest wealth and education gaps out of any major civilization in the last 500 years.
