It looks like the extra 300lbs of weight the Evo X has put on is showing itself on the track. I'm a big Evo fan but I have to admit that stock for stock the new STI is better from a performance perspective, mainly due to the weight. In addition I seriously have doubts that the all new 4B11 aluminum block engine in the Evo X will have the rock solid reliability in the face of heavy aftermarket tuning that the venerable 4G63 had.If it were my money, I'd still have an Evo 9, spend a couple of bucks on an ECU flash and a full header back 3" exhaust and enjoy a solid reliable little car with far more oomph than any of these stockers.— AutoEng (View Profile)

isn't the old 4g63 capable of going 12's stock?— Htay7500 (View Profile)

With no physical engine mods an Evo 9 can get into the 12s easy with only an ECU tune and a 3" header back exhaust. An Evo 8 with cams, ECU tune, and exhaust can get low twelves or high elevens no problem.— AutoEng (View Profile)
