One of Audi's more popular models that helped move volume for the four rings was the Q5 sport-utility vehicle. Going up against the likes of the hugely popular BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class — now known as the GLC-Class — the Q5 was a much loved product.

But it's gotten quite old.

As expected, Audi has finally gotten around to delivering an all-new Q5. Considering what we've seen from the four rings with the Q7, A4 and A5, we're thinking it won't reinvent the wheel.

Expect its design to gain the latest headlight and taillight technology and receive sharper styling. It will not be a revolution; however, it will receive the three-dimensional front grille. Its interior will be fully redone with the same components now home in the Q7 and A4 — rotary knob, touchpad, etc. Expect the A4 and A5's engine options to carryover. That means primarily a forced induction four-cylinder will be on tap with a potential SQ5 equipped with a six-cylinder mill coming down the 'pike.

Audi released a teaser that hints at the next-gen Q5's Apple and Android connectivity. We think you'll be more interested in the taillight teaser pic, however.

Apple fan girl oder Android fan boy? Der neue Audi Q5 hat keinen Liebling, er vernetzt sich mit beiden. #Qriosity
