So, you've seen the studio shots but now it's time to get down to reality: How does Volkswagen's all-new product strike your fancy?

Or does it not do anything for you? Bottom line, we want to know what your initial thoughts are.

Though its styling has become a bit more squared-off and edgier, it doesn't seem like much has changed in that department. The real changes are happening inside the Golf.

On the inside, it's become a bit more spacious and, of course, features an updated interior that seems to harken back to the MKIII days -- I am focusing on that center stack.

I keep looking at the images 001 shot and I am still not clear if the interior is riddled with that God-awful hard plastic. Unfortunately, these days VW has gotten really good at masking it, as I found out with the new Jetta.

In addition, this is the Euro-spec version. Who knows what will happen with the U.S.-spec'd vehicle.
