Based on the 908 HDi, the 908 HY will feature a kinetic energy recovery system, that enables a proportion of the kinetic energy produced under braking to be either recovered or stored.
Due to this the vehicle is improved in one of two ways: either the performance will be increased without increasing the fuel consumption of the or the fuel consumption will be reduced for the same level of performance thanks to the availability of stored mechanical energy.
