As 001 is out in Portugal having a blast, I am stuck here in New York City. [grumblegrumble] But I cannot help but notice the competitors against the new 3.8 Turbo. In some of the comparison slides we see that the new Turbo is not a slouch by any means.Although Porsche does not list the competitors in the slides, can you figure it out? Let us know, below!2010 Porsche 911 Turbo Photo GalleryWIth the 997 Turbo down on horsepower, I was not sure if it would be able to keep up with the competition... Clearly, that is not much of a concern as 0-62 MPH comes in a blisteringly fast 3.4 seconds. And Porsche could be conservative with that particular time as 001 observed -- he did 60 in 3.1 seconds. And it consumes less than the competition by a significant margin. With these numbers you want to be lower. After the conversion, the Turbo achieves just over 20.5 MPG. 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo Photo GalleryAutoSpies.com Photo GalleriesIf you want to see your photos running on our homepage photo ticker, be sure to upload your photos on the go by sending them to Mobile@AutoSpies.com Share on FacebookThere are photos and then there are AutoSpies.com photos!AutoSpies.com is ranked number one on Google search for auto showsThe 2009 Franfurt Motor Show gallery is sponsored by Lexus.

Sorry R8, looks like Porsche is back at top, where it belongs. — merce63amg (View Profile)

The new turbo 911 seems incredible, but I would like to see an Audi R8 V10 pitted against it...I think it would be very interesting.— golfer38 (View Profile)

Unfortunately, most 911/997s look alike regardless of year and price close to the R8 which IMHO turns WAY more heads, has a nicer interior and comes w/AWD std.— StarSearch (View Profile)

that's easy... the displacement & horsepower chart makes it obvious:Aston Martin DB9 (5935cc V12, 477 hp)Audi R8 5.2 (5204cc V10, 525 hp)BMW M6 (4999cc V10, 507 hp)Ferrari 458 Italia (4699cc V8. 570 hp)Lamborghini Gallardo (5204cc V10, 550 hp)the Ferrari was especially obvious: who else is pulling 570 horses out of a 4.7 without forced induction?— pushrod27 (View Profile)

Except that the 458 Italia is 4499cc not 4699cc! — nvme (View Profile)

Two thumbs up for Co2 and fuel consumption. Also the 0-100km/hr is improved a little too so can't go wrong either way. Nice job Porsche. The 911 is still one of my favorite cars in the world. Understated but packs great punch. It's also great value compared to it's Ferrari and Lamborghini counterparts.— Agent63 (View Profile)
