It was announced just recently by n2a Motors that it is now receiving pre-order deposits for the Stinger, the most current version in their range of highly-revered coach-built vehicles.
The Stinger, which is set to be delivered by 2010, derives its inspiration from the second generation 1963, 1965, and 1967 Corvette Sting Rays and its chassis comes from the 2009/2010 C6 Corvette. The Corvettes of 1963-1967 are the most legendary and exciting cars in the history of automobiles. The current Stinger gives honor to the famous second generation Corvette with a smooth, carbon-composite body highlighting the front face and hood air intake from the ’67 Corvette, evocative of the mid-section ’65 Corvette and the popular split-window rear end of the ’63 Corvette and a performance and safety level which at that time seemed impossible. The Stinger, using a Corvette donor, gains a sprint rate of 0-60mph in just 4.3 seconds with power output of 430hp and torque rated at 424lb-ft coming from the LS3 V8 unit that comes with 16mpg city and 26mpg highway fuel economy ratings. Because the chassis and safety features have not been revised, the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty by GM applies and the Stinger can receive service at any GM outlet.
