Like it or hate it; the first production model of the new 2009 Nissan Maxima today rolled off the assembly line at the company’s North America Smyrna Tennessee plant.
Built on Nissan’s new D platform the 2009 Maxima is said to provide responsive handling and eliminates the torque steer due to high-horsepower front-wheel-drive cars. Power comes from a 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 290-hp (35 more than the outgoing model) and 261 lb-ft of torque. Fuel-economy for the 2009 Nissan Maxima is estimated at 19/26mpg city/highway.
Nissan will offer the new Maxima in two trim-levels including a 3.5 S and 3.5 SV. Both are scheduled to arrive in dealerships later this summer. Pricing...
