And the recalls continue to come in...

This latest story consists of not one, but two, recalls happening with Nissan and Infiniti products. Both are important, so, if you own one of the affected vehicles, please get in touch with your local Nissan or Infiniti dealer as soon as possible to confirm if your vehicle requires a fix. The list consists of:

- 2008-2014 Nissan Rogue;
- 2013-2014 Nissan Pathfinder;
- 2013 Infiniti JX35;
- 2014 Infiniti QX60; and,
- 2014 Infinti QX60 Hybrid.

Please note ONLY the Rogue is afflicted with the water seepage issue and the Pathfinder, JX35, QX60 and QX60 Hybrid are being called in for the hood release cable assembly problem.

RECALL Subject : Electrical Short Due to Water Seepage

SUMMARY:
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.

CONSEQUENCE:
An electrical short can cause a vehicle fire.

REMEDY:
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

RECALL Subject : Hood Release Cable Assembly

SUMMARY:
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Nissan Pathfinder vehicles manufactured June 20, 2012, to November 18, 2013, 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid vehicles manufactured July 18, 2013, to November 18, 2013, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles manufactured November 29, 2011, to June 14, 2013, and 2014 QX60 vehicles manufactured May 16, 2013, to November 18, 2013, and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles manufactured July 18, 2013, to November 18, 2013. In the affected vehicles the hood release cable assembly may have been installed incorrectly preventing the latching claw from fully engaging. The secondary latch may remain in the open position when the hood is closed.

CONSEQUENCE:
If the primary hood latch is released and the secondary latch fails during operation of the vehicle, it could cause the hood to open during vehicle operation impairing the drivers vision, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

REMEDY:
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the angle of the hood release mechanism to provide additional length to the release cable, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
