It's been a bit of a while now that since we've seen the very first shots of the stretched Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Turns out that the three-pointed star's plans are about to be seen in production form for the very first time.

That's because the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show will serve as the launch for all-new Mercedes-Maybach products. Much like Mercedes has turned the AMG skunkworks division into Mercedes-AMG, the Maybach brand will fall under the Mercedes umbrella.

Aside from the nomenclature, the amped up S-Class is expected to feature exotic materials and an experience at the level of, or surpassing, super luxury rivals from Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Though it will take shape in form of an S-Class expect it to be much more than that. At least that's what they're saying for the time being.

Mercedes' Head of Global Design, Gordon Wagener has characterized the all-new Maybach as "haute couture."

You know what that means. Bring a fat checkbook.
