Report: The Return of the Jaguar Supercar

Jaguar has just unveiled two of the fastest cars in its history, with the new 2010 XFR saloon and 2010 XKR sports coupe and cabrio making their respective debuts at this week’s Detroit Auto Show, however, according to latest reports the company is working on an even faster, mid-engined supercar.

The new flagship will reportedly make its debut in around 12 month’s time and is being designed to take on the likes of the Audi R8 and upcoming Mercedes Benz SLC Gullwing.

This isn’t the new light-weight sports car that has been reported on for several months. The new Jaguar flagship is tipped to be called the XE, a name the company recently filed as a trademark in the UK.

Jaguar should concern itself more about becoming a viable brand first rather than waste its time trying to build a supercar to take on the likes of the Audi R8, Ferrari, or any other supercar for that matter.

jaguar's prestige is up there whether u like to believe it or not. by looks its more prestige than lexus and bmw's. its just had a bad rep for breaking down but i think the new XK, XF and upcoming models are HOT!!!!!!

LOOK EVERYONE. THAT CAR IN THE PICTURE IS NOT NOR IS IS PLANNED TO BE A JAGUAR. IT WAS A DESIGN STUDY AS A FIRST STEP IN PURGING THE OLD JAGUAR DESIGNS ON THE WAY TO THE EVENTUAL XF DESIGN.

THAT PICTURE IS OVER 5 YEARS OLD AND IS ONLY A CLAY MOCK UP. ANTAXIS YOU SHOULD START POSTING STUFF UNLESS YOU CHECK ON WHAT YOU ARE POSTING.
