The Chevrolet Equinox has never really been a winner in the compact crossover / SUV segment.

With sub-par styling and a somewhat disappointing power-train lineup, the Equinox has been often overlooked when compared to its key competitors; the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV-4 and the Ford Escape. That however, is all about to change in 2010.

For ‘10, the Equinox gets totally redesigned with a theme inspired by the Malibu and the Traverse; a brand new interior with a bunch of features, and a new 2.4L direct injected 4-cylinder that delivers an EPA-estimated 32 mpg on the highway. In fact, this is the type of vehicle that makes us think “what the heck was General Motors doing all-along.”

I personally liked the last Equinox. As did many others cause it was a good seller for Chevy. I see tons of them around. As for the new one, even better than the first. But for me I will be keeping my eyes on the GMC Terrain. Give me big fender flares and chrome!

You're sick man, you are referring to Hyundai as if it was a damn religion.

Geez, the best gift you ever had was an old clunker ! What else, the best day of your life was the day the Genesis was released ?

Hope you don't have kids, or a wife, cause they must always comes second after your beloved 2004 Sonata. Get some objectivity, Hyundai is only a mainstream automaker, nothing more, nothing less.

And BTW, before Hyundai thinks of turning the accent into a cheaper Audi A2, they should think turning it into a cheaper Yaris/Fit.

For now, the Accent fights with the likes of the GMDAT Aveo while the elantra is more a Renault-Samsung SM3 contender than a Civic/Corrola

I don't want to be rude but I'm getting tired about your annoying comments on Hyundai, that are most of the time out of the scope of the articles.

Humm, I didnt know the Fit was better quality or more reliable than the Accent becuase the stats dont say so? No you look at it and suppose its better quality becuase, "Oh its a Honda." Times have changed Baby Boomer.

If the A2 is so good, then why was the Accent the most reliable subcompact in Europe before the introduction of the i20 according to JD Power? I just want the Accent to have the same materials as an A2, not the reliablity of one.

I drive a 2007 Accent. I wouldnt own a Sonata until this Next Generation coming up. The last Gen Sonata had reliablity problems, the Current Gen Sonata has too many recalls, just being honest. Hyundai has a greant little car in the Accent, it deserves to be Genesis'ed up. Hyundai played the GM Profit game with the Sonata, and the other big cars. "Lets put our goodies in here to sell more of them." This last oil crisis has made them shift course. As in, The small cars must be better than the big cars. Youll see in 12-18 months.

By the way, the Rio will be the Fit Competitor, whats the point in making 2 Fit Competitors. Hyundai will be made to undercut MINI. They have the worst small cars in terms of reliablity, and we have the most reliable small cars.

A Premium Accent with proven reliablity thats larger and costs less and haa the same fit and finish as a MINI, or a MINI?

A smart shopper would leave the JCW alone.

And once again we have digressed. <sigh>. The CHEVROLET EQUINOX is a worthy addition to the market. Not that I'm surprised. I've been watching GM for years now (ever since I started me ASE course a while back and started to acknowledge some of the things they have consistently done right). GM's time has come and it is well earned.

I want to get back to the Hyundai posts. honestly its morons like him talking about how great his Korean shitbox is that makes this site fun to read.

I guess to each his own.... but i couldn't imagine driving a car with less personality then the shoes i am wearing.

My guess is he is a low level Hyundai salesmen, who keeps hearing how great hyundai will be in the future, and see's numbers on reports about how their cars are built 300% better now.

I am sure someday they will be a decent company, but you have to remember that if you make shit 300% better its still shit.

Bottom line for me, is i wouldnt trust my children in a Hyundai, nor would i expect them to ever be excited to drive one.
