It has been reported several times that the British luxury brand will be coming out with powertrains that are equipped with lower emissions in the succeeding years. The first unit in line for this plan is the flex-fuel W12 found in the Continental Supersports that will come this fall. Bentley, as part of the VW Group, will also be including diesel and hybrids.
For instance, the latest spy photos of a Continental GT show that Bentley may be working on a hybrid variant of the Continental GT. Besides a number of unfamiliar gear at the rear section of the car, it is claimed that it was traveling without making much of a sound, an possible indication that it was running on electric mode. If this is accurate, the Continental may be utilizing the same hybrid system that VW, Audi and Porsche.
