Everyone other than the Germans is gunning for Lexus. And why not? They symbolize the soft under belly of the segment. Just like a shark circling the school of fish, the easiest is picked off first while the strong remain unscathed. Such is the case for the archaic LX SUV.
A large behemoth from another time, the LX signifies the tradition that size not substance matters. It simply doesn't stack up against the competition in today's terms.
So why are we worried about it? If these spy shots are anything to believe, then Lexus may be tipping the hand a bit too early. The 2020 LX might have been weak to begin with, but this may leave it ripe for the picking from a new kind of shark.
