The BMW X5 is one of BMW's best-selling products as it has become the go-to pick for many suburban families.
So, when BMW gets ready to introduce an all-new model, much like the 3-Series or X3, it can't mess it up or else it will give away marketshare to the likes of Audi, Mercedes-Benz or -- now -- Porsche.
Now we're at the stage of development where things are starting to "gel," or come together. The heavy camouflage has come off, yes it still has the swirly wrap, but now its interior is visible in certain spots.
Clearly we can make out the all-new kidney grilles and it appears that, like the 3-Series, its headlights will connect to the grilles.
On the inside, it's clear that it will be inspired by the 3-Series navigation unit, which looks similar to an Apple iPad sticking out of the top of the center stack. Elsewhere you'll notice BMW's new iDrive controller that is touch sensitive.
