Although it seems that many enthusiasts are very happy that Ford has bestowed upon the US a Ford Focus RS — we've been waiting for an eternity — it seems that Ford Performance may have something else up its sleeve. Yes, that would be another RS model.

The latest spy shots seem to indicate that the Blue Oval is working on a performance model based on the Fiesta chassis.

To me this is a genius idea as I enjoyed the Fiesta ST so much it made my Top 007 list for 2014. That's not an easy thing to do when you have some serious competition in form of BMW's latest M cars and plenty of AMGs as well.

As of now there's a lot of speculation. Word on the street has rumored that a 1.6-liter EcoBoost motor putting out around 215-220 horsepower will be equipped but that's where the information stops. What will be interesting to see is if Ford equips it with an all-wheel drive system or if it will make do with front-wheel drive. My bet is on the latter as the power increase will not make up for the additional weight.

The collection of snapped spy pics show a Fiesta with bolted on fenders that are extended as well as a revised front end to take in more air to allow for better cooling. In addition, there's a bolted on diffuser element that's covered for the time being as well as what appears to be bigger brakes up front.
