It wasn't too long ago that we learned that Mercedes-Benz would be changing its nomenclature. In order to lessen the confusion around such models like the CL, CLK, GL, ML, GLK, the company created a standard around its core models — the C-Class, E-Class and S-Class.

While we've seen the all-new GLC and refreshed GLE, what about the GLS?

Some spy photos have popped up now and again, but the best have yet to come. And we've got them.

Up until now it appeared like the refreshed GLS would merely have a slightly revised grille and nothing more. Turns out there's more in store.

As seen in our cover image of the Mercedes-AMG GLS63, the vehicle will receive one seriously aggressive facade. This includes MASSIVE air intakes and a much lower front clip. For the GLS550, it appears that it too will get an all-new front clip inspired by the likes of the CLA, CLS and E-Class. That means two massive intakes flanking the central venting. Given that this silver test vehicle is equipped with AMG-specific wheels and blacked-out elements, we're going to take an educational guess and say this is the AMG Sport Package on the GLS550.

For now we're going to assume the interior changes will be minimal, however, perhaps we'll see a larger screen as well as integration of Mercedes' touch base that hovers over its rotary dial.
