It doesn't take much for us to realize that interest in the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is running high. Not only are you — the users — clicking on any information pertaining to the next-gen three-pointed star, but since Mercedes has been knocking all if its all-new vehicles out of the park, it certainly has our attention.

With cars as good as the new S-Class and all-new C-Class, we can't imagine the German automaker botching the E-Class. While the current-gen E was harshly criticized by the press, it is selling quite strong.

So, how will Mercedes not ruin its current success? Well, it's going to take an interesting route. Rather than give it unique styling the E has typically held for about 20 years, it is going back to producing a vehicle that looks like it belongs between the big daddy S-Class and entry-level C-Class. From what we can tell with the slew of spy shots we've seen, it will look similar to the S.

In the latest pics, Mercedes-Benz released several images to the public displaying the upcoming E's safety systems. As you'll see, the company is highlighting its collision avoidance and automatic braking system.
