Although BMW's have been dubbed The Ultimate Driving Machine for what seems like eons now, I have to say the last time I hopped behind the wheel of the flagship sedan, the 7-Series, I was less than impressed. It just felt a bit too lethargic and whale-like.

To me, it was a bit funny as the company was sure to equip the car with a rocker switch a la the other models so you could toggle Sport + if you so desired. I doubt many people do it.

Now with the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class here and absolutely winning over buyers and the motoring press alike, everyone has to step up their game. We're hoping BMW gets serious with this generation product because if it doesn't, it's dead on arrival.

With word on the street that the vehicle will use carbon fiber and become lighter, we're thinking that the Bavarians will emphasize driving dynamics as the product differentiator. I am not so sure that's exactly the best way to sell a vehicle typically found in a long wheelbase variant, but who am I?

Do YOU think that BMW SHOULD develop the next-gen 7 to have BETTER driving dynamics? What say you?
