Arguably considered the best roadster around, the Boxster is due for a full-on update. As you can see in the spy photos uncovered, it doesn't look like much of a change, however.

But if you know Porsche's ways you'd know that it's a brand that relies heavily on its legendary heritage and evolutionary design. According to Carscoop, the next-gen Boxster will roll on a modified 991 platform and will benefit from Panamera-inspired cues on the exterior AND interior.

Considering the Cayenne, and from what we've seen of the 991, have adopted the Panny's interior look, we're not shocked.

The next iteration of the 911 series, codenamed 991, isn’t the only new model undergoing development by Porsche these days. The Stuttgart-based sports car maker is also busy testing a brand new generation of the Boxster, as these latest spy photos reveal.

In typical Porsche fashion, the third generation Boxster’s styling will be an evolution of the second generation model, which itself was an...evolution of the original drop-top, entry-level Porsche which debuted in 1996...
