If someone were to ask me about the best high-performance sport-utility vehicles on the market, I'd probably spit out a list that featured things such as the following: BMW X5M/X6M and Porsche Macan. But one hopped up SUV that seems to get overlooked is the SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Maybe because its engine doesn't crest the 500 horsepower mark?

What we do know is this, however. That won't be true much longer. That's because we've been keeping an eye on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and it's very clear that the company is about to unleash one incredibly gnarly beast. That would be the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

As the name suggests, it will feature the world famous 6.2-liter HEMI V8 "Hellcat" motor that makes a staggering 700+ horsepower. Until now we haven't seen much of the super SUV testing with exception of one vehicle using launch control.

These all-new spy shots courtesy of Brian Williams do not reveal too much as the test vehicle is not overtly differentiated over the current-gen SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it does show that SRT is clearly working on something. The front end is camouflaged but the big brake kit, exhaust and stance do not appear visibly different.

That said, if the all-new SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a 700 horsepower monster, will this be the all-new, high-performance SUV killer?
