When it comes to the Jaguar F-Pace, we've been waiting a long time to see what this all-new Jaguar sport-utility vehicle is all about. To be straightforward, after showing us the C-X17 Concept, Jaguar Land Rover has really built up high expectations for us.

It seems to know that too.

At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the company was very clearly trying to distance itself from the concept by even stating that it will not look like the C-X17 in its production form. Well, why not? Did everyone like it too much?

For the very first time, these all-new spy shots show us the F-Pace without all of the hardcore camouflage. That means we can actually take a gander and see what's going on.

If you ask me, it looks like a Land Rover Range Rover Evoque mated with the all-new XF sedan. Around the front you'll note the now trademark Jaguar front grille that's flanked with squinty headlights. In the rest of the front valence there is a good amount of venting to keep the vehicle's internals cooled down. Taking a look around its hind quarters, it seems to me that the rear windshield is aggressively raked and it will keep the F-Type-inspired taillights. In the rear valence is a dual-tipped exhaust a la the Evoque.

Oh! Also note that there appears to be two different models testing in this batch of photos. One is the sporting variant with red brake calipers and large diameter wheels and tires, and the other is what we're guessing is the diesel version utilizing — I am assuming — an Ingenium family motor.

Things are getting exciting for the leaping cat. We'll be keeping an eye out as the swirly wrap peels off.
