Now when Audi releases an RS model it's always a big deal. That's because high-performance autos are "in." Frankly, I don't think they ever went out — even during the energy crisis of the 1970s.

Over the years we've seen the likes of the RS4, RS5 and RS7. There's just one problem: There's a whole slew of RS models we never got the chance to experience. One example is the RS3 hatchback that never was shipped from Europe. Another is the latest generation RS6 sedan and Avant.

The latest RS under development is the next-gen RS3. Expected to follow up where the last-gen hatch left off, rumors are circulating suggesting it will be outfitted with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine good for upwards of 400 horsepower.

In this very first video clip of the upcoming RS3 in action, it's clear that the vehicle is equipped with a rather barky five-cylinder — only five and 10-cylinder cars have this tonal quality. In addition, we expect the interior and exterior to get a facelift. This means there will be additional, larger venting in the facade as well as a rear diffuser element with oval exhaust tips.

All that said, take a look at the clip below and let us know what you think: IF the RS3 gets shipped to the U.S. will you want to add one to your collection?

This time I filmed the 2018 Audi RS3 Sedan testing at the Nürburgring. The car has a turbocharged 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine that delivers 375hp. Rumors say it will be also available in the USA!
