Just the other day we passed along the very first video of the all-new BMW and Toyota joint project car in action. It was fairly brief and showed the vehicle exiting BMW’s M facility located at the world famous Nurburgring.

We’ve improved upon that. That’s because there’s all-new video that shows a drop-top version of the rumored Z5/Supra doing some developmental testing.

You guessed it. It’s around Germany’s ‘Ring as well.

While I thought the last vehicle was a BMW due to some design details, it’s hard to say now. That’s because this too looks quite BMW-like and features a cloth top a la the Z3 and Z4 that came before this rumored Z5.

Although the idiots at that other publication did a voiceover that muted the aural output of the test car, from what we can hear it sounds like a rather burbly six-cylinder. This is different from the rather peculiar sounding test vehicle we heard the other day. We’re happy to report it will most definitely be a rear-wheel drive auto as you’ll see its ass end slide out in the video below.

Hang in there, Spies! We’re sure we’ll have some more details for you sooner rather than later!
