The Porsche Panamera has been a tremendous success for the legendary German automaker. After the runaway sales of the Cayenne, the company had to of known that a four-door sedan — even if it didn't look all that great — was going to be a gamechanger.

But, as with all things, time has begun to run out on the first-gen Panamera's shelf life. It's time for the all-new replacement to step into the fore and continue this model's legacy.

While we've seen quite a few developmental cars undergoing testing in the past 12-18 months, I do not recall ever seeing one quite like this.

Spotted by our friend Toldi in Porsche's backyard in Stuttgart, a next-gen Panamera is seen cruising the local boulevard. As it passes the videographer, it's clearly a snarling V8. Then, once it fully passes you may take note of a few things.

Firstly, its rear spoiler is quite massive. It looks significantly bigger than what's found on the current-gen Panamera Turbo and Turbo S models.

Secondly, you can see that there will be venting behind the front fenders, which shouldn't come as a huge surprise given the current models feature this design trait.

Third, I know this is really getting into the minutiae but check out the passenger side mirror. Note it isn't one piece but rather split to allow air flow. This is also a detail that's carried out on the 911 Turbo and Turbo S.

Lastly, two more fine details. The car is equipped with a substantial cross-spoke wheels and tire package a la the current Turbo and Turbo S models. And, you will note a rear diffuser that looks functional with an integrated quad-tipped exhaust.

Having said that, does this seem to be the first sighting of the Panamera Turbo/Turbo S?
