In the past 12 months, the Mercedes-AMG GT has made quite a name for itself. Being the all-new halo sports car from the three-pointed star, it has big shoes to fill between the likes of the Mercedes-McLaren SLR and SLS AMG.

If you ask us though, it seems to be doing just fine.

Being that the super AMGs still exist in form of the Black Series cars, it has been interesting to hear a mixture of opinions about whether or not the AMG GT will get its own variant. If you ask us though, it seems that it's pretty clear it will.

Recently video'd working its way around the world famous Nürburgring, and at the company's research and development facility at the 'Ring, it's clear that AMG is up to something. Though the vehicle is fully camouflaged, you can make out what appears to be a more aggressive front valence, different wheel/tire set up, flared fenders indicating a wider track and super stiff body control as it laps the 'Ring.
