Lexus better let us have it. when the last generation LS came out she shock the world with her 8 speed automatic, parks itself, & more technological features of any production car sold here in the U.S.BMW has been taking the spotlight, & with the unknown looks of the GS compared to the head turning looks of the 5-series that I'll choose anyday over the GS, I'm not sure what Toyota Motor Corporation is doing with all their $$$$$ to be the world richest auto maker.

If this LS is not a 'wow' factor Lexus will continue to loose market share.

I think it looks a lot more aggressive than the old one, at least from the front. Definitely looks like they are targeting a younger crowd with it. The LS has a very "geriatric" image associated with it, I can understand why they'd want to appeal to a younger demographic. We'll see if it works, it's hard to change perception overnight.

Lexus has really missed its target with this refreshed LS. Although Lexus wants to target a younger buyer for the LS, not many young people can afford an $80K car. The really aggressive, almost after-market looking front grille might be a turn-off for the traditional LS buyer, who are older people.

If Lexus turns-off its current LS customer base with styling that is too aggressive and prices the LS out of the range of younger buyers, the will dig themselves a deeper whole, falling even further behind Mercedes-Benz and its best-selling, class-leading S-class.

I had the second Lexus sold in the state of Utah, after LHM got his. It was a fabulous car. I also had a S500, and SL500. Again, great cars. For the money, the Lexus was the best car...The Mercedes was the best car, but 30K more, so for the money, Lexus was great. Now, when you load it up, your close to 90, and for 15 more, You get the best car, and the lexus doesn't compare to the looks of the S550. Lexus is in trouble. Still a great car, but it is overpriced, and Mercedes and BMW are killing them on style...

it's just a new grille. cover that up and it's the same car. no substantive chassis, engine, transmission, weight, styling, or performance changes. warmed over 2006 model.

Gen 2 LS also had minimal changes to its greenhouse despite mostly all new sheetmetal. And Lexus sold a ton of those. It wasn't a mid-cycle refresh and yet it could be mistaken for one. Mercedes is doing the same with the S class. Audi did the same with the A8. Buyers at this level want continuity, familiarity. They want to know that there $80,000 car won't be obsolete in 4 years. Every 8 to 10 years, you will see a new direction (2007 LS, 2002 7 series, Audi notsomuch). But not every generation like you see in mass market cars.

This looks boring. The side profile of the current LS mated to the front snout of the new GS. And Lexus has the balls to call this a "redesign". And Lexus fanboys like you fall for this marketing BS all the time...

The S class has literally an entire century of design heritage and class. Get back to me when the LS can match this feat.

Dud. It's a bit too sci-fi / tuner-ish for a car that is sold to grandmas and grandpas. Lexus is forgetting who buys these things.

LOL. Why do people say "Period" like it's going to change anyone's mind.

The current S Class is still the best looking car in its class and does not even really need a refresh/renew and it still stands out in a parking lot. Hopefully the new S will live up to this.

This Lexus….ZZZZZZZ. Just like the GS.

Looks not too bad, I think the big grill suits a big car better.
Wish car companies would do more than just add Walmart LED lights to their cars. Hyundai is the worst for it (saw a Hyundai Sonata hybrid and it looked like a Christmas tree upfront) but a straight line is so 10 years ago.

For my 60th Birthday this year I was going to trade my 2010 Lexus GS350 AWD in for a new 2013 Lexus LS460. (Previous to the GS I had a BMW 530Xi). Was invited to the national Lexus 2013 GS test drive and although it had some nice new features and style I was not that impressed. Test drove a 2012 LS460 AWD and that also left me as excited as "kissing my sister". (And to think I was ready to spend over $80K for this car).

Fast forward, I test drove a top of the line new 2012 "second generation" Chrysler 300C with AWD and a 5.7L V-8 and EVERY option/technology (except auto park) offered, VERY similar to a fully loaded LS and was blown away how much I liked the car, considerably more roomier and comfortable, gutsy muscle car engine, similar fuel economy, and just as quiet on the highway (Chrysler specifically targeted the LS460, MB E350 and BMW 5 Series for ride comfort and road quietness). The list of STANDARD features in this car is just unbelievable and the few options/packages available gives very serious competition to all the called lux imports for $$'s vs. value. Even the leather and WOOD steering wheel is heated ALL around and not just on the leather portion like on the LS:-) The touch screen "infotainment" system is probably the easiest and fastest responding system I have ever used with a gieant 8.4" screen.

To think, I spent HALF of what I would have spent on a new LS and I have a quintessential American "muscle car" combined with the features/technology/comfort of a luxury import car in one vehicle.

Yes it seems the American brands, and Chrysler especially, is truly making a spectacular comeback in the auto industry and making some great cars!

I gotta say that color is really good lookin on the f sport. I like the original wheels better than those f sport wheels but overall this car is very attractive. I'd buy one if I had that type of money

Your quintessential American muscle car is built in Canada and is technically an Italian company now.
You'd be better off buying a Toyota Avalon which is probably 115% American, not like the imports from GM (China/Canada) and Ford (Mexico). The Avalon probably has more bells and whistles too.

Lexless makes another MISTAKE. The top tier luxo boat has no business being fitted with boy racer front grille and cheap looking details. Do they think they are selling their land yacht to 20 year olds?

Lexless shoots themselves in the foot with this new LS design.
