By now you've seen the teaser footage and heard of the claims. Now, it's finally here.

Yes, a 500 horsepower Volvo.

Here's the lowdown on this unbelievable machine. Today the vehicle made its debut at the Gothenburg City race in Sweden. How fitting. As of NOW the S60 Polestar is a one-off concept, which was produced for a client. However, according to sources, Volvo is awaiting "market response" to see if it would make sense to actually produce for mass consumption. Can't blame them as this is not the bread and butter of its business.

That means YOU have to speak up and vocalize your thoughts in the comments below.

Let me briefly run through the details.

Originally rumors said the powerplant would be sourced from the XC90's V8 -- WRONG! The Polestar uses a heavily modified version of the S60's forced-induction inline six motor, which results in an ungodly 508 horsepower and 424 lb.-ft. of torque.

Coupled with this engine is a six-speed MANUAL gearbox and the company claims a zero to 60 time of 3.9 seconds.

In addition the vehicle has, predictably, been lowered, widened and reinforced the chassis, equipped the S60 Polestar with a Brembo big brake kit, and modified the suspension.

The exterior gets a much needed body kit that provides more room for the wider track front/rear. Note: the larger fenders, front clip, rear diffuser, side skirts and large diameter wheels.

Its interior gets the obligatory Alcantara treatment for most touchpoints -- steering wheel, shifter, seats -- and Polestar-specific seats.

All things considered, we're a little curious what YOU think about the Volvo S60 Polestar. Is it a STUD or a DUD? Is it ready for prime time?
