Alfa Romeo has done it.

The Italian automaker has beaten its German and American rivals in building the best driving, handling, and sounding high-performance sport sedan in its class. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, or QV, is powered by a Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, with all of that power going to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic. No, a six-speed manual isn’t on offer in the US; the take rate simply wouldn’t have been high enough for Alfa to justify.
