I must be a glutton for punishment. This is because one of my favorite automakers is Aston Martin.

If you check the used car market you'll notice there around to be had but, boy, the repair bills for simple things are astronomical. That doesn't change two things, however: 1) They're some of the most beautiful vehicles on the planet; and, 2) they are wonderful grand tourers with spunk.

Probably one of my favorite vehicles of all time is the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S. While its interior was lacking, the exterior design is a 10.

So, how do you follow that up? Well, we're going to find out in November. That's because the British manufacturer will be debuting an all-new Vantage. Apparently it's happening in a secret location. As I am a betting man, I'd suspect it will be in SoCal around the Los Angeles Auto Show. Not only is the company's North American headquarters in Irvine, it is home to an assload of Aston owners.

Hanging out with Agent 001 in San Diego I think I spotted seven in one day. It's insane.

Back the Vantage. I think it's safe to say the car will debut with an AMG V8 good for around 500 ponies. What will be interesting to see is whether or not the company keeps a do-it-yourself transmission or switches over to dual-clutch boxes only.

Personally, I am hoping that a V12 with a manual is coming down the 'pike at some point.

That said, scope out the first teaser image of the upcoming Vantage. If you click over to Auto Motor und Sport, really inspect its spy shots. There's a whole lot of DB10 going on there.
