The BMW 5-Series is one of the world's most popular four-door, luxury sedans. We don't foresee that changing any time soon though I will note that Mercedes-Benz's E-Class has been doing quite alright in its own respect.
And I cannot stop seeing enough of them on the road — the all-new Es, mind you.
BMW though is preparing something special. That would be the all-new 5'er. While we're confident it will feature much of the same technology first debuted in the all-new 7-Series, we're a bit curious how much BMW will change its design. If the research and development vehicles we've seen are any indication, we think it's safe to say that it will follow the 7's inspiration. In other words, it will be a very lightly changed all-new design that largely carries over the F10 5-Series' look and feel.
The interior, on the other hand, should get some fancy new tech.
Where the all-new 5'er will be differentiated from its elder is with how much weight is shed. For years we've been seeing BMW take all-new approaches to being weight conscious. While we do not believe the Germans have the economy of scale to do carbon fiber construction in the 5, do expect to see featuring more aluminum to lighten the load.
The all-new 5 will premiere for the first time in October.
