Today marked a pivotal day in Lamborghini history. If you're a fan of the company all about the raging bull, then you know that the Gallardo has been, easily, the brand's most popular model. Ever.

For what was once a very small production automaker, it has made BIG strides. I like to think that it was only because of the Gallardo that we've been able to see cars like the Egoista and Veneno. Without that — and the investment from Volkswagen Auto Group (VWAG) — it's likely that Lamborghini would be back to building tractors, if anything at all.

Post Aventador and Aventador Roadster launch though, it's time to usher in the latest from Italy. With spy shots of the all-new Cabrera — that's what the Gallardo replacement is being called for the time being — making their way around the 'net, we figured it wouldn't be too long before we got a bit more tease.

Now's that time.

Not too long after Lambo announced the final Gallardo had been produced, we were presented with an all-new website that teases the all-new Lamborghini. Details remain mum on what it actually is, but if were putting money down on a table to make a bet we'd say it's the Cabrera.

Though the sound clip is brief with only a start up and rev, it's clear to my ears that this is a V10 motor. In fact, it doesn't sound all that different from a current-gen V10 Gallardo. This isn't surprising to us as we've heard the Cabrera working its way around the track and it sounds nearly identical to the Gallardo's V10 howler.

Other publications have hinted it could be the Sesto Elemento — it also uses a V10 — but we don't think Lamborghini would give that car its own big splash and insist on visitors "sharing," the news via social media channels.

Just us though!
