One automotive manufacturer you may be surprised to hear we've been keeping an eye on is Nissan. While I've always appreciate their work in some respect, the company's products never held my interest.

That was, until recently.

Now the auto builder is turning out some seriously impressive rides. Take, for example, the all-new Murano, all-new Maxima and Rogue. These are vehicles that have captured people's interest and are making noise while doing so. Sure, the Altima moves a crazy amount of units but it's probably one of the top vehicles in the world that's truly devoid of any personality or character.

So, what's up its sleeve next? The concept coming to the Tokyo Motor Show may unlock the door to the future for the Japanese brand.

Although no word has been released, the company dropped a teaser of what appears to be a compact sport-utility vehicle with design language similar to the all-new Murano and all-new Maxima. Draped in blue light and featuring blue accenting, we're thinking this is an electric vehicle.

It doesn't hurt that Nissan is saying this concept reflects "the future vision of car intelligence and electrification."

Sounds like an autonomous vehicle or an EV to us.

What do you make it for, Spies?
