2019 has been a big year for General Motors. No, it's not because of the all-new Silverado. It's due to the launch of the all-new, C8 Corvette.

And last night marked the reveal of the C8 Corvette Convertible.

Now with a mid-engine setup, the Corvette Convertible looks far more exotic than any other Corvette that previously existed. Note the flying buttresses, louvers on the rear decklid, large vent in the side profile to cool the motor, etc.

Compared to the traditional, front-engine Corvettes, this is significant departure. The wedge-shaped design applied to the Chevy changes everything. Although polarizing, it seems that the consensus as of now is that the 2020 Corvette looks killer.

While its edgy design and value may appeal to the average Joe, high net worth individuals and the tastemakers of Hollywood are a different breed. It's about image and what people think when you pull up to the hot spot.

Having said that, we've got to wonder: Although the all-new C8 Corvette looks great, will it get buy-in from the A-list crowd like Kanye West, the Kardashian crew, athletes and others?

Though many may not like to admit it, this is a critical part of driving sales. Influencers drive the COOL factor, which ultimately translates into moving units.
