Just when I start to think I know a lot about autos, something always comes around and knocks me on my ass. It just goes to show, you learn something new everyday.

And when it comes to Ferrari, there's just so much to know. That's because in the marque's earlier years there were a slew of special vehicles built. Some small batches, some one offs. It gets crazy.

At a certain point in time though, Ferrari actually worked with Bertone on a special concept vehicle.

Dubbed the 308 GT Rainbow — no, I am not kidding — it appeared at the 1976 Turin Motor Show. I didn't know it even existed until today.

Looking quite dreadful, it's pretty clear why Ferrari decided to keep its styling with the masters of bodywork, Pininfarina.
