In the previous thread I just relayed news to all of you about Top Gear's latest run-in with calamity. Although this isn't surprising as the trio and its production are known to ruffle feathers, according to one of the head cheeses — Jeremy Clarkson — "we [Top Gear] did nothing wrong."

This is certainly going to turn into a "he said, she said" kind of thing.

After safely arriving back in the UK, along with the rest of the Top Gear production staff, Clarkson has made it clear that this was simply a misunderstanding and something that was never done intentionally. From there he goes on to expand on what the production experienced while working in Argentina.

Keep in mind Clarkson is known to exaggerate a bit. For example he states that there were thousands of individuals chasing the team out of the area and most of the war veterans were in their 20s. Considering the event happened in 1982, folks in their 20s would not have even been born yet, let alone a war veteran. That said, it doesn't mean that a lot of 20 somethings weren't a part of the crazy event.

...But in a series of tweets released this morning after arriving back in the UK, Mr Clarkson insisted the number plate was a coincidence. He said the crew were chased to the border “by thousands” before state representatives ordered them to leave the country...
