Car buyers will see a big change in the Toyota Corolla when the new model arrives in the U.

S. next year.

The next generation of Toyota's second-best selling car will be a clear departure from the current model, the division’s new vice president says.

"Some (within Toyota) have said it is an even more dramatic change" than the Avalon’s recent metamorphosis, Bill Fay, general manager for the Toyota and Scion brands in the U.S., tells WardsAuto at a media preview of the new RAV4 EV here.

Lower the price or add more content. The Corolla is overpriced and stripped down for being the oldest car in the segment. Maybe Toyota doesn't need the money.

The Plug-In Prius sales are disappointing, 695 in June and 688 in July. Toyota has some catching up to do. Let's hope the RAV4 EV does much better.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the Corlla, but ok. I'll bite. The PIP is just basically a trim level of the Prius. It's never going to sell in big numbers. Prius as a whole continues to shine!

A hybrid Corolla would be on top of my list, preferably a plug-in version. This is what it has to do with the sales performance of the PiP.

Sounds like you're here to argue. A hybrid/plug-in "Corolla" would be at the "top of my list" for "big changes" in the "2013 model". I was doubting the likelihood of that happening considering how Toyota is doing with their other hybrid/plug-in models.

....Added performance, styling and great mpg and that will have the civics butt handed to Toyota which will inevitably happen anyway you look at it.
