Ever since the Jaguar F-Type was proposed about a decade ago, I've been waiting for this vehicle to make its debut. That's because unlike the XK, which is a luxury/GT cruiser, this is supposed to be more of a sports car. One could argue it's been a while since Jaguar has built one — XJ220 aside.

Now EVO Magazine's Harry Metcalfe gets the pleasure of being driven around in both the V6 and V8s before their official launch, which according to Metcalfe will be in April.

Give the clip a watch and let us know WHICH version you're more intrigued by.

Is the V6 more your bag? Or, is the V8 speaking to you with its LOUD pops and crackles?

We’d be the first to admit the Jaguar F-type’s development process has felt long, and that we can’t wait to just drive the thing. But while a passenger ride is clearly second best to personally having a go, as Harry Metcalfe’s video above proves, it can reveal plenty about a car’s character nonetheless. Like just how brilliant both V6 and V8 versions of the F-type sound, the former resembling a particular German rival and the latter popping and crackling like mad on downchanges.

evo's Harry Metcalfe gets a ride in the Jaguar F-Type (V6S and V8S) eight weeks before the official launch. Both sound amazing!
