At the 2015 New York Auto Show, I made sure that when I walked to the floor I had a series of vehicles to check out. While there were a few obvious choices, one that may not strike the Spies as a "must see" is the all-new Honda HR-V.

Why do I care, you ask? Well, there's a couple of reasons:

1) I think the compact sport-utility vehicle space — luxury or not — is going to be hypercompetitive. If there's one thing we've learned over the years it's that buyers want utility and they want a raised seating position.

2) Although I am sure some of you won't vibe with me here, I actually do like the way it looks. It's spunky and has a bit of verve to it. How many Honda products can you say that about?

While I was pretty impressed after sitting in it, I think it's even more interesting to hear what our friends across the pond have to say about Honda's all-new SUV.
