It seems like a simple question at first, but when you really think about it you have to wonder if there is a "right" answer.

What makes a GOOD car advertisement?

I seem to think that there is.

That's because after you've seen a whole lot of mediocre advertisements, or just plain 'ol bad ones, you quickly see the commercials that stand apart from the rest of the pack.

To me, the BEST placed spots are the ones that remain "on brand," speak to the core audience AND are not "trying too hard." You know the ones I am talking about.

With the world's biggest day for advertising around the corner, you better believe that approximately 110 million sets of eyes will be glued to televisions across the nation. AND, the automakers have their best and brightest doing their top-notch work.

Below I've selected not one, but TWO recent spots I've seen that seem to be good examples. That said, what say YOU?
