In many automotive enthusiast's book, the Ferrari F40 is the king of the supercars. Yes, even over the remarkable McLaren F1 from the 1990s. While they're quite rare and all left the factory in Rosso Corsa, now we're starting to see people snap them up and make them their own.

One of the most famous F40s out there is the one from Gas Monkey Garage. Painted black and featuring a slew of upgrades, it showed what some creativity could bring to the F40 model.

Here's another take.

According to Shmee (Tim) this particular F40 went through Ferrari's Classiche program. That means it was sent back to the factory and was restored/approved to the factory's specs. Obviously it's not for the faint of heart but if you're going to do it, do it right. In an interesting twist, the owner had it resprayed a lovely dark blue. Although Ferrari has a slew of blues to choose from, I am thinking this one is either Tour de France Blu or Blu Nart

In this ridealong video that also features great exhaust clips, the de-catted F40 sings. Equipped with a Tubi exhaust, it is really something to hear that V8 rev, the turbos spool up, and pops and bangs on the overrun.

Check it out, below!

An incredibly rare and truly gorgeous Ferrari F40, finished in a custom choice of blue for its new owner and fitted with a Tubi exhaust system.

We take a look at the car before jumping in for a ride where you can hear the insane pops and bangs from behind, as well as a few drive-by shots.

The car has undergone a full restoration and Classiche approval for the new owner, including the exterior colour choice that will upset some as a change away from red (the only factory colour from Ferrari), however it works exceptionally well and looks beautiful.

As an earlier F40 it is without cats, and in addition has been fitted with a Tubi race exhaust system for an amazing soundtrack, that constantly backfires with excess pops and bangs.
