I think its been doing a great job with it so far, Tiguan, Eos, and I think that lowering the price slightly has also worked out for them as in US, VW is still somewhat perceived as an economy level car.

I haven't been favorably impressed with VWNA's decision making over the past 10 years. Most of us drive European cars because they perform like European cars. I have no qualms about moving the manufacturing of compact cars to the US in order to gain profitability and more competitive pricing. Just leave the important parts of the design in Europe. I wouldn't trust VWNA to add anything more substantial than additional cupholders.

The Passat appears to be alright. Still not sure about the SUV sizes that get quoted from VW of America execs. The Tiguan is already too small compared to most of its competitors not sure about a CUV that's any smaller making sense. In the end I think what happens is that the US gets its own 3 row SUV/CUV bigger than the Touareg.

Agree. For example if I want a torsion beam rear suspension, I'd get a Chevy (ok, actually I did, but not because of the torsion beam). However from a business perspective this seems to be working for VW. The Americanized Jetta is selling well even though it is so stripped down. This creates a gap between the cheap entry level A to B vehicles for the masses and extremely expensive and luxury vehicles that VW used to fill. I guess if we really want a performance German car now that is not defeatured we may have to get an Audi.

@NorthstarSRX, I had memory seats in my 04 A4 and my 06 S4 Cab... I think they are doing just fine in the American Market. Could they add a little more to the cars? They probably can, but VW/Audi probably feel that their sales gain in the past several years are sufficient in pace and they don't need to add the extra expenses for minimal gains.
